1969 1971 Don Messer's Jubilee Farewell Tour - His Land His Music
Don Messer's Jubilee (and other names) was a hugely popular TV and road travelling show of Canadian Maritimes music and performers in the 1950s-60s. In 1969 they did a farewell tour across Canada, recorded on 16mm film. In 1971 the National Film Board of Canada released a 'behind the scenes' of that tour, which I found a copy of in the collection at the Niagara Artists Centre in St Catharines. Contains a lot of great 'behind the scenes' stories. In December 2016 I recently transferred to digital some of the many films The Niagara Artists Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario has collected over the years. This is one of the Centre's collection of 16mm films. Sadly the film colour is totally shifted to red, I did my best to restore it towards the original colour.
