The Archaeology of Qumran with Dr. Jodi Magness - Archaeology Discovery Weekend 2023

The second lecture from the 15th annual Archaeology Discovery Weekend presented by the Lawrence T. Geraty and Douglas R. Clark Center for Near Eastern Archaeology on 11 November 2023 features Dr. Jodi Magness, the Kenan Distinguished Professor for Teaching Excellence in Early Judaism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, speaking on "The Archaeology of Qumran." Dr. Magness' research focuses on the archaeology of the ancient Near East in the Roman, Byzantine, and early Islamic periods. She currently serves as the director of the Huqoq Excavation Project in Israel and has authored/edited more than a dozen books as well as countless journal articles, including The Archaeology of Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
