Thanks for watching my videos 👍 See you soon 👋 Marc Millid Breeding Guide: To keep millipedes in a terrarium, you will need a spacious enclosure, at least 2 to 3 times the size of the millipede at adulthood. You can use a plastic box, a fauna box, a terrarium, or an aquarium. It is recommended to add dead wood and dead leaves to the terrarium to recreate the millipede's natural environment. Minimum substrate depth of 15 cm (6 inches) Oak, beech, or chestnut leaves. You can either sterilize your leaves (by putting them in the oven or microwave), or leave them as they are (but watch out for ants). It is important to maintain a warm and humid environment, as most captive species are tropical. The temperature for raising millipedes is generally recommended between 20 and 26°C, achieved with lighting (10 hours). It should be slightly cooler at night. Be sure to maintain adequate humidity in the terrarium, as millipedes need a humid environment to thrive. The ideal humidity level is around 70 to 90%. Detritivores As for diet, millipedes eat a wide variety of foods, including fruits such as apples, pears, bananas, currants, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and peaches, as well as zucchini, cucumbers, and lettuce. Some species also enjoy fish flakes. A source of calcium, such as cuttlebone, is essential. Primarily nocturnal, some individuals will forage during the day. When threatened, they commonly secrete a substance that irritates and stains the skin. Longevity Some large species live for a very long time, several years, even up to ten. Some millipedes live in symbiosis with species of mites on their bodies. It's important to do thorough research and absolutely do not try to "clean" them of these mites.
