LA PESCA TRADIZIONALE L’essenza e la storia di Fano sono legate indissolubilmente allo sviluppo della zona portuale.Il porto, realizzato nel 1616, inizia con la Darsena Borghese, il canale più anticoe principale collegamento al mare, che deve il suo nome a colui che ne ordinò l’esecuzione: Papa Paolo V Borghese. Nel tempo furono realizzate le altre darsene costruite in funzione delle attività portuali. L’area portuale è stata poi adattataalle esigenze economiche. I cantieri per la realizzazione di natanti in ferro - e successivamente in vetroresina - hanno sostituito i vecchi cantieri, trasferiti poi nell’entroterra per esigenze di spazio. Oggi la superficie portuale comprende anche la passeggiata del Lisippo e i quadri, che sono tra i luoghi più caratteristici del lungo mare. TRADITIONAL FISHING Fano’s character and history are indissolubly linked to the evolution of its harbour.Its construction began in 1616, with the Darsena Borghese, the oldest canal and the main link to the sea, named after the man on whose orders it was built: Pope Paul V Borghese.Over time, more quays were added to serve the harbour’s various functions.The harbour also underwent changes to meet new economic needs.Yards for the building of steel - and subsequently breglass - vessels replaced the traditional boatbuilding yards, and operations were then moved into the hinterland for reasons of space. Today the harbour area also includes the Lisippo promenade and the quadri, amongst the most fascinating parts of the seafront.
