John Paul Riddle - Independence Day Flight Under Middle Bridge

Several months ago, we introduced you to John Paul Riddle, a Pikeville native and one of the greatest aviation pioneers. Today, in honor of Independence Day, we’d like to tell you about a stunt he performed on July 4th in 1923—flying under the old Middle Bridge. Stick around to the end to hear a legend about a way he may have literally left his mark on his hometown. Special thanks to Kim Sheeter and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, for providing us with an oral history transcript and audio of Mr. Riddle. Ms. Sheeter is an employee of Embry-Riddle, writes the WilderBlue.com aviation website, and is writing a biography of John Paul Riddle. →Subscribe for new videos every other Thursday! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBY4...
