I Tried 5 FREE Instagram Crochet Amigurumi Patterns.. Are They Market Prep Friendly? #FPR #Episode31
I scoured Instagram for the cutest mystical creature FREE amigurumi crochet patterns I could find! In this video, I'm reviewing 5 different patterns, from super cute animals to snuggly, cuddly creatures, to see if they are actually worth your time and effort. I'll be giving my honest thoughts on the pattern clarity, difficulty level, and final results for each one. Today's verse is found in Mark 13:33, which says "Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come." If you're interested in suggesting a pattern for me to review in the future, either comment a YouTube pattern you want me to try below, or follow me on Instagram @pieces_of_scrap and DM me or tag me in the comments of patterns you would like me to try for you!! In these videos, I use a color coding system to refer to whether I believe something is good, neutral/potentially annoying or just bad. I use the color code both when I show how long it took me to make a pattern, as well as when I am sharing things I noticed about the pattern. Here are the colors I use and their meanings: Time To Make Color Code: Red: Takes too much time for the size of the finished product, it's probably not worth selling the product at markets based on how much time it took to make. Orange: Expected amount of time to make or possibly slightly above average time I expected to invest to make this project. Green: Very fast make, possibly an amazing project to make for market prepping purposes! Pattern Notes Color Code: Red: This is something I think the pattern designer could have fixed before releasing the pattern to the public. This ranges from vague instructions, errors in the pattern, or missing instructions. Orange: This is something that I have found you either will hate, or you will feel neutral about. Typically this is whether or not there are grammar/misspellings in the pattern or if the pattern requires more sewing and could be converted into a lower-sew pattern. Green: This is something I really like about the pattern! Rating Criteria: #1 - Would I use the pattern again? (Do I enjoy making the pattern? Is the pattern confusing or frustrating and make me not want to make it again? Will I have to refer to my notes about the pattern to solve for problems I encounter when making the project? Is the amount of time I invest in making the project worth it?) #2 - Can I understand the pattern easily? (Is the pattern easy for all skill levels to complete without encountering problems or confusion? More complicated steps have detailed and thorough instructions, diagrams, and plenty of WIP photos.) #3 - Do I like the finished product? (Is the finished product something I think people will like and potentially want to purchase at one of my markets? Is it a case of expectations vs. reality, where the pattern designer’s photos look nothing like the finished product I produced?)
