A headless Muffler Man stood forgotten in a donkey pasture in rural Kentucky for decades. Broken, patched together with scrap metal, missing its arms and head, and barely standing… this giant roadside figure looked beyond saving. This is the story of the Mortons Gap Muffler Man — our very first restoration project and the restoration that launched American Giants. What started as a trip to investigate, became years of research, fiberglass repair, sanding, painting, and uncovering the forgotten story of one of the earliest surviving Muffler Men.
