Accessible Investment Literacy Roundtable | Youth, Investing & Building Sustainable Habits.

Building a bridge between financial awareness and real-world action. Digify Africa, in partnership with Satrix, hosted the Accessible Investment Literacy Roundtable to tackle one of the most pressing challenges facing our youth: building sustainable habits through investment. We brought together industry experts, financial educators, and ecosystem stakeholders to unpack what it truly takes for young people to begin and sustain their investment journeys in a modern context. The conversation was rooted in the emotional and practical realities that young South Africans navigate every day. Key highlights included: Breaking the Barriers: We addressed why investing often feels "out of reach," discussing the impact of unemployment, debt, and "black tax" on financial decision-making. Debunking Myths: The panel explored damaging money myths, from the idea that investing is only for the wealthy to the performative pressure created by social media. Wealth vs. Earning: We clarified the vital difference between making money and building long-term wealth, highlighting practical entry points like TFSAs and ETFs Digital Innovation: We explored how the Lesedi WhatsApp bot is revolutionizing engagement by meeting young people on a platform they already use, turning information into true financial confidence. Join us as we recap these powerful insights and work toward an informed, empowered community of young people taking charge of their financial independence.
