The poem was featured as an introduction to Ingelow’s own Poems of the Old Days and the New, published 1885. My interpretation is the celebration of a woman's voice maturing and singing 'from out your deeper heart'. A song about supporting, listening to and being inspired by other women and the theme of my upcoming album To The Awe, centring women in their own narrative.
