Composer: Tanbûrî İsak Form: Peşrev Makâm: Bayâtî Usûl: Darb-ı fetih Τanbur: Nikos Andrikos Source: The recordings featured in this channel are produced within the framework of the research project Intercommunal Musical Geographies of Late Ottoman Istanbul hosted at the Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology Laboratory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Performances are based on various 19th century Ottoman printed sources and are juxtaposed to contemporary versions of compositions. The repertoire explores intercommunal interaction by highlighting key figures form various fields of music, including publishing and entertainment, the musical topographies of the city and syncretism among diverse genres.
