Building a Game Engine for 20 Years - Ashley Gullen on Construct 3, 3D, AI, and More
I was super excited to have the opportunity to interview Ashley Gullen, co-founder and lead developer of Construct 3, about the state of Construct and where it is headed next. We talked about the history of Construct, how Construct 3 fits into today’s game engine landscape, the impact of AI on game development, Scirra’s approach to 3D, performance, Construct Game Services, and the role of community plugins and the SDK. I know that for many areas Construct has a long way to go, but I believe Ashley has a vision of how the team wants to approach 3D while keeping the Construct user experience many of us have come to love. Many of you know I have been trying various tools recently in addition to Construct. I have NOT stopped using the tool for various projects and have been excited by recent features added to the engine. Huge thanks to Ashley for taking the time to talk.
