Turning a Square Bowl From Half of an Elm Log [It's SIMPLER AND EASIER than you think!]

This week I'm revisiting square (or square-ish) bowls! I love the counter intuitiveness of turning something square on the lathe and these "abstract" square-ish bowls have been one of my favorite things to turn since the beginning of my woodturning adventures. If you're nervous about trying it, just start with something small; you'll have the hang of it in no time. My first square bowl blank was literally a piece of 2x4. It worked fine. I tried to cover as much as I could in this video without making it a mini-series, but I always forget something, so feel free to ask questions in the comments! I do already have several square bowl videos so check those out too. I'm sure I'll be doing other square bowl variations in the future as well. Thanks for watching! They are simply demonstrations and are NOT intended to be complete instruction. Proper training and experience are essential before attempting to use any woodworking equipment. Do not attempt projects or techniques that are beyond your skill level or your comfort level! Serious accidents can happen in an instant and bandaging wounds or sitting in an emergency room is much less fun than woodturning. You are always responsible for your own safety. The only rules are: 1) Be careful; 2) Have fun.
