Virtual-On Marz - PlayStation 2 - Intro, Chapter 7 with final boss Tangram & Ending [1080p60]
Full playthrough / longplay of the entire final chapter on Ultimate difficulty, that's the hardiest setting in the game. Normally we don't like to showcase large sections of big games, but seeing as we have quite a few Virtual-On fans and our Editor Riven was playing the game anyway. We thought why not and Randomised Gaming will just see how this video does in the view count and watch time. So for the rest of this description Riven will explain. First off, the moral of this video is unless you are very good at Virtual-On don't try to do Ultimate on your first playthrough as you are missing key Virtuaroids. Which makes Ultimate very tricky if you play it first time round on this difficulty. The Virtuaroid I was using has an upgraded version you can't unlock until after you have finished the game on a second lap of the same savefile. I found the gunner Temjin easier, due to his better weapon tracking, the A.I. also doesn't avoid his attacks quite as much either for some reason. The campaign mode is clearly built with only Temjin in mind, as units like Raiden don't deal the right amount of damage with their heavy weapons. Exploiting the A.I. of enemies unit is another trick needed, else it will just evade every attack you use on it. Straight up Jumping attacks are good, as are bombs which the A.I. tends to run into and it's also prone to getting stuck on the side of the walls. Playing Ultimate with these early Virtuaroid is about limiting the amount of damage you received, you will take damage it's just making sure you don't take tons of damage, as you need to use those repair discs carefully. I've edited out deaths in this run and there were a few capture drop for a second or two, not sure what caused it, changed the name and a few other edits. Your reward for beating the game on Ultimate is White Knight Temjin the most powerful character in the game. I was able to beat Ultimate in 2hrs 30minutes after unlocking him and you can dodge just about everything the CPU throws at you as he is that fast, he makes beating Ultimate a piece of cake. Sadly you can't use him first time around. Almost every Virtuaroid from the series appears in one form or another in this game, the final boss is Tangram from Oratorio Tangram. The mission before that see you battle a variant of Bradtos from Oratorio Tangram. As a final boss Tangram in Marz is one of the easiest battles in the game and is a huge anti-climate. Not sure what caused hatter to appear in the double Z-Gradt fight but I suspect it's to do with the number of reties. Hatter is said to also appear in the STRTS / Bradtos fight if you use up all your repair discs. Virtual On Marz is the weakest game in the series, a hybrid port of Virtual-On Force that uses the core game engine and graphics. It just lacks some of the stages, units and presentation seen in Force. As the combat system in Force was flawed, these flaws and more carry on into Marz, the camera system becomes troublesome on some stages due to the target lock on. The pace of the game is also rather slow compared to the earlier games in the series. The whole 2 vs 2 concept was a nice idea, in practice it didn't work however with the combat system as it stood. The story mode is a nice idea but free roaming stages don't work with the current camera system, one for die hard fans of the series only. Virtual-On Marz never received a European PlayStation 2 release, the English translation used in the America version was awful and the Database was also removed from the NTSC/U release. This video is using the Japanese version and the game doesn't support 480p or widescreen.
