Solitudering Onboard Lap - Improved version with map and voice over The Solitudering was a street circuit near the German city of Stuttgart. It was named after Castle Solitude and has hosted various motorcycle and automobile races. Already in 1903, hill climbing competitions were organized near Castle Solitude. In 1925 a 13.857 Miles long street circuit was realized, with the Start/Finish near the castle. In 1931 the circuit was shortened, and in 1935 a new layout was created. This new layout was 7.146 Miles long and contained parts of both previous layouts. But the Star/Finish was no longer near Castle Solitude. Just like the previous versions, the track was driven anti-clockwise. The last races at the Solitudering were held in 1965. Because the track was found too dangerous, the Ministry of Internal Affaires banned racing on the Solitudering. Today, most of the old street circuit is still there and can be driven at normal road speed. But every two years there is a revival on a short version of the old Solitudering.
