Webinar "La edad de oro de las baterías"

Energy storage has become central to the energy transition as a key component for ensuring the efficient integration of renewable energies, strengthening security of supply, and moving towards a more flexible, resilient, and decarbonized electricity system. In a context marked by the rapid growth of renewable generation, the electrification of the economy, and the need for more efficient demand management, batteries are playing an increasingly prominent role in both energy planning and investment strategies within the sector. This webinar offers an updated overview of the role of battery storage in Spain and addresses the main opportunities for its development in the coming years. It analyzes the factors driving the deployment of these solutions, as well as their contribution to managing surplus renewable energy, reducing curtailment, and optimizing new business models linked to flexibility. The webinar provides insights into the key factors behind the current boom in batteries and their potential to become a strategic infrastructure for industrial competitiveness, energy security, and achieving climate goals. The event also examines the remaining challenges for consolidating this new growth cycle, including adapting the regulatory framework, the evolution of electricity markets, project permitting, financing, and the integration of energy storage into the overall energy system.
