Savio Industrial fa parte del Gruppo SAVIO, che opera in ambito farmaceutico, coprendo i diversi settori: dallo sviluppo, alla produzione, alla distribuzione, all’informazione scientifica alla classe medica. Da sempre il Gruppo SAVIO presta molta attenzione all'impatto delle proprie attività sull'ambiente e, proprio in quest'ottica, è nato il progetto di cogenerazione. L'impianto da 1 MW avviato nel 2018 presso il sito di Pavia, soddisfa circa l'85% del fabbisogno energetico aziendale; il calore viene impiegato prevalentemente per esigenze di processo e per la gestione delle condizioni ambientali, temperatura e umidità, negli ambienti destinati alla produzione farmaceutica. Infine, il cogeneratore oltre ad evitare l’immissione in atmosfera di ben 10.000 tonnellate/anno di CO2, è stato riconosciuto come impianto CAR e ha ottenuto i certificati bianchi.
