Don't Force the Lead Arm Straight

Many hitters have been taught to force the lead arm straight, but is that really the secret to power and consistency? In this video, I explain why a straight lead arm is often a RESULT of a good swing—not the CAUSE of it. The best hitters tend to use their lead side more effectively, and for some players that naturally create a straighter lead arm. But trying to force the arm straight can actually make your swing worse. We'll look at examples of elite hitters like Mike Schmidt, Mookie Betts, and Shohei Ohtani, who have produced incredible results without maintaining a perfectly straight lead arm throughout the swing. The real key is learning how to swing more with the lead side and allowing your body to organize itself naturally.
