Introducing the “music to commune with the unreal” EP. An energetic and frenetic 4-track collection, Onopah’s singular dubstep sound is on full display across this dynamic EP. Opener “CHARGED UP!” kicks things off in suitably ballistic style, with wild sound design and unhinged rhythms. The maddening flows continue on “pulophlolomaniac”, while “the chaos ensemble” carries immense bassweight and brutal progressions. Aptly titled “expeditiously long closing song” brings down the tempo with a melodic focus, ending the project on a perfect note. “The creation of this EP for me is bittersweet. This represents the completion of demos I had been fiddling with for around a year. Projects where the most meaningless, idiotic, whimsical sounds pushed me to mindlessly lull on for hours in the DAW, creating silly loops until there was actually a full-fledged wall of chaotic sound. That is something I take pride in, even if it's OK to never finish or to never start, no matter how hard it is to accept that.” said Onopah. “But in the midst of a year, there is still what you forget, what you are not present, what you could have, what you can't even conceptualize. Not being fully invested into something you wish you could be, not fully being where you want to be, but still showing what you are despite that. To flirt with what is unreal in the real but what could be real. Or maybe to commune with ethereal kindred spirits, manifestations of people you may know, or the personifications of your delusions, hopes and dreams?
