Tak Terima! Refly Harun Protes Penangkapan Roy Suryo dan Dokter Tifa, Ini Alasannya!

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Roy Suryo's attorney, Refly Harun, expressed his regret at the arrest of Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa on Friday morning (June 19, 2026). The arrests were carried out by investigators from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police without prior notification. The legal team strongly protested the arrests of Doctor Tifa and Roy Suryo this morning. Refly stated that Doctor Tifa and Roy Suryo have always been cooperative during the investigation into the alleged defamation case involving the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, using a fake diploma. Therefore, he considers this unannounced arrest to be extremely regrettable. To date, the police have not provided the attorneys with information regarding the background to the arrests. Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa are currently detained at the State Security Sub-Directorate, General Criminal Investigation Directorate, Jakarta Metropolitan Police. The fake diploma case involving Roy Suryo stemmed from a lawsuit filed with several colleagues against the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. They alleged that the educational documents used in the presidential candidacy were inauthentic, which then sparked controversy. However, the situation reversed after Roy Suryo was named a suspect for allegedly spreading false information or hoaxes. The report was filed by several parties who believed the accusations had caused public unrest and violated the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). The legal process is still ongoing, with Roy Suryo's legal team pursuing legal action, including a request to halt the investigation. Roy Suryo's attorney, Refly Harun, considered the arrests of Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma to be odd. Refly also protested the arrests to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. He has also conveyed a message to Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) regarding the arrests and urged the DPR not to remain silent in the face of this issue.
