The Lagrange formalism is an alternative formulation of classical mechanics and has significant advantages over Newtonian mechanics in many cases. In this video, we'll consider a particle that can move along a helical path. We'll try to find and solve the equations of motion for this particle and calculate the constraint forces acting on it.
