Shocking Human Trafficking Ring in Cocoyea Exposed — Police Linked to Suspects Who Held Women Hostage. A Venezuelan woman, who sent a desperate SOS message to Crime Watch host Ian Alleyne, was dramatically rescued from an apartment where she claimed she was being held against her will. On Thursday, November 6th, Alleyne contacted Sgt. Seecharan and Cpl. Huggins, who swiftly mobilized a team of officers to the location. When police stormed the residence, the terrified woman ran out barefoot and in tears, straight into the arms of the responding officers. Inside, investigators discovered several small rooms on the upper floor, each outfitted with a bed. Police described the location as a suspected brothel at Scott Drive, Simpson Brown Terrace, Cocoyea, San Fernando. Moments later, officers breached a next door apartment, where they found at least seven other Venezuelan women. According to police sources, the women told investigators that officers from the San Juan area had allegedly taken them to the premises and instructed them to “work” there. The shocking revelation has sparked a wider probe into possible human trafficking and police involvement. Investigations are continuing.
