Otonom Araçlar Kaza Anında Kimi Feda Edecek? | Frekans | 63
In this episode of Frekans, Prof. Dr. Enis Doko examines the philosophical and ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence and autonomous vehicles, which will become widespread in the coming years. He explains that artificial intelligence cannot have a consciousness, experience, or conscience like a human; examples illustrate this with the idea that a machine can only chemically analyze coffee but cannot taste it. He emphasizes that while artificial intelligence is often perceived as objective and unbiased, if the data loaded into it is sexist or racist, the machine will also carry these biases (for example, political or gender-based crime prediction algorithms). The famous "Trollbar Problem" from philosophy is adapted to autonomous vehicles; different cultural approaches (MIT research) regarding whether a vehicle should save women or men, the elderly or children, a doctor or a thief in the event of an accident are discussed. Using the example of organ donation in a hospital, utilitarian ethics are criticized, explaining how running over an innocent pedestrian who is following the rules to save four passengers on the vehicle destroys social trust. Finally, the question of who would be legally liable in the event of an accident involving a driverless vehicle is explored. It is stated that artificial intelligence cannot be blamed because it has no will, and the responsibility lies with the user who neglects maintenance or, in terms of compensation, with the manufacturing company. 00:00 Teaser 00:59 How Will Autonomous Vehicles Make Decisions in Case of an Accident? 01:38 Can Artificial Intelligence Have a Conscience or Compassion? 04:37 Artificial Intelligence Has No Consciousness 06:51 Is Artificial Intelligence Impartial?
