ReKo Play aims to introduce you to video games for classic retro consoles like the Mega Drive, Master System, SNES, Game Boy, and others. We strive to be as informative as possible, providing plenty of background information on release dates, developers, publishers, gameplay, and more. The first wrestling game for SEGA's Mega Drive was Wrestle War. Completely in-house produced, it was one of the less popular wrestling games for the 16-bit console. The 180° view rotation during a whip-in is particularly confusing. However, it does offer more action options than some other wrestling games. It's actually a completely license-free game. How it was released under the name Wrestle War (which was also a WCW pay-per-view in the same year) and with a roster that clearly borrowed from big names of the time, such as Hulk Hogan and Road Warrior Hawk, remains a mystery to us.
