Wickedest, LOUDEST, Nastiest Jake Brake at Naranda Bauxite mine in Jamaica.

This was my first truck and my first driver. Just came across this footage of my International 9700 with the Detroit 60. I am running just 13 gears Eaton box and 70 inch leaf spring spread with old bullet proof 4.10 SSHD differentials. Its a Three stage Jake and the can is empty. This carries 32 tons all day running at Naranda Bauxite mine In Alexandria St Ann, Jamaica. Bauxite is one of Jamaica's main foreign exchange earners along with tourism. Of course, bauxite is used to make aluminum for everything from car body parts to beer and soft drink cans and engine blocks. This bauxite is loaded onto a train which is then transported to an ore ship in Discovery Bay and then on to various processing plants all over the world. Jamaica is recognized as have the second highest quality of bauxite ore behind the Ivory Coast but because Jamaica's bauxite is so close to the surface it makes mining extremely easy and thus Jamaica's bauxite is among the most cost effective to mine.
