Today we’re going to tell you all about drag tires! We talked with Patrick Stone of Coker Tire about their Phoenix Model of drag tires. These tires are not meant for street use, made of a soft compound for high horsepower cars and straight on acceleration. One of the ways these drag tires work so well is because of the soft sidewall. This creates a wider contact patch as the tire folds and the sidewall absorbs some of the energy so you won't feel an instant shock, and the tire will quickly grab, hook, and take off.
