'The Bistro Styx' {a poem} Optional English grade 11 {lesson 1 of unit 4} new course

The Bistro Styx is a poem by Rita dove, an American poet. This poem is an allusion to the Greek mythological story. In the myth 'Demeter and Persephone', Persephone(daughter) was kidnapped by Hade, the god of underworld. By giving reference of the story, the writer(the mother ) talks about her daughter who was attracted towards Paris by the modern form of Hade { such as artist, waiter in the hotel, variety of dish}. It looks as if act of eating by the daughter is never ending. The mother shows the troubled relation with her daughter. It is very helpful for learners of English. ____________ Facebook:   / laxman.pandey.39
