Who were the AJIVIKA?
The Ajivikas sect was an important sect of Ancient India. In this video, I talk about the history of the Ajivikas, their philosophy, and how they declined. I also discuss the philosophy of the Ajivika sect and how they were viewed by other sects. The Ajivka religious tradition was one of the most important religious traditions that came into existence around the 6th century BC. Its founder was Makkhali Goshala. After the decline of the Mauryan Empire, the Ajivikas also disappeared from North India but in the South, particularly in the Cholamandalam area, they survived up until the 14th century.
