WHEN To Plant WHAT Brassica & WHY

Which brassica variety you plant and when, will ultimately determine if the deer turn their noses at it, or attack it with an incredible level of grazing power. Some brassica varieties are designed for early browsing and some are designed to be eaten late. Depending on where you live in the country and what your individual land's need for food, and the timing of that food, will determine exactly which brassica seed to plant. In general, radish varieties will be eaten the earliest, forage rape and turnip varieties will be browsed on 2nd, and purple top turnips, green globe and kale will be consumed last. Often a balance is needed, but if you live in a high % ag area you will need to plant early forage varieties, and if you are in a heavily timbered area you should lean on late attraction blends that include kale and purple top turnips. *We sell SEED. please check out our own, small, family owned food plot seed company at: https://www.purewildlifeblends.com/ *For interest in buying our land: We have retained Chad Garteski with Weiss Realty to represent us in providing brokerage services.   Due to the unique situation, location and adjacency to our property we will not be doing any mass marketing for the time being.  We will only be working with pre-qualified buyers.  If you have interest in purchasing this property or if you are a broker that has a qualified buyer feel free to contact Chad at 507-269-2742 or [email protected] for details and arrangements.
