Woodturning an oak clock with yew inlays
In this video I make a clock with yew inlays. The thumbnail doesn't show the finished clock. I start with an oak blank and i drill 35mm holes to inlay the centre. The idea is to look like overlapping coins but it doesn't go to plan. Unfortunately I should have started with two holes and left the first one empty so i could cut and fit the last disc. I didn't do this so I got a double cut disc. Anyway I'm still very pleased with it! I turned the clock on my lathe and finished it with shellac and abrasive wax. The numbers were cut on my laser cutter and glued on with CA glue. I hope you enjoy the video and please comment like hype and perhaps super thanks. The music in this video is by my son Jacob. For contact @ultrawoody1968 Feel free to use my ideas but please work safely. #woodturning #woodworking #clocks #clockwork #diy
