FORMER SIAYA GOVERNOR CORNEL RASANGA TO TAKE ON DR. OBURU OGINGA FOR SENATE SEAT IN 2027

#kurunzinews Pioneer Siaya governor, Cornel Rasanga Amoth has declared interest in the Siaya senate seat that is currently held by the Orange Democratic movement party leader, Dr. Oburu Oginga. Following the declaration made today during a thanksgiving service at his Segere village home in Alego, Rasanga will face it off with the ODM leader in the party primaries as the current senator recently affirmed that he will defend his seat during the next general elections. Rasanga expressed hope that the party will conduct a free and fair nomination process to pick the most popular candidate to be its flag bearer. He accused the incumbent of reneging on a promise to serve only one term and promised a titanic battle to wrest the seat from Dr. Oburu. “During the last general elections, he implored on me to support him and promised to serve for only one term after which he will support me” said Rasanga adding “it is unfortunate that he is reneging on the promise”. Rasanga however said he was ready to face off with the other contestants adding that his senatorial ambition will not be derailed. The former governor said that should there be obstacles within ODM, then he will be forced to explore alternative routes like running as an independent candidate.
