The Chemical Brothers: 'We Always Look For Instrumental Records With Strange Noises' | Interview
The Chemical Brothers, formed by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons in 1989, are an influential English electronic music duo. They played a pivotal role, alongside acts like The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim, in popularizing the big beat genre. Originally called The Dust Brothers, they changed their name to avoid confusion with another band. Their debut album, "Exit Planet Dust," sold over a million copies and debuted at No. 9 on the UK charts. Signing with Virgin Records, their second album "Dig Your Own Hole" (1997) soared to the top of the UK charts. With six No. 1 albums and 13 top-20 singles in the UK, including two chart-toppers, they've garnered six Grammy Awards, spanning categories from rock instrumental to dance recording and electronic album.
