Keep in mind the metal pincher detector pieces sometimes get moved or bent a bit out of alignment, or corrodes or gets too dusty and the contact doesn’t occur and if that happens you’ll get the same error even using the plastic cover trick, but the cover trick stops the litter debri issue completely and reduces the pinch error occurrences dramatically. Recently I disabled the detector all together when I found the metal ends slightly bent and not connecting. I just determined this safety wasn’t needed with my cats as they won’t go near the robot when it’s in motion and had no need for this safety feature that requires a lot of in depth fix adjustments and is truly a pain sometimes.
