[17 hours] HAPPY place (My Hardest Clear)

Attempts time: 4 hours 49 minutes Practice time: 12 hours 52 minutes Total time: 17 hours 41 minutes Deaths: 3rd section: 87-89 4th section: 11 5th section: 19 6th (last) section: 0 OMG! This is my new hardest clear. It's a very well-known level, especially in Japan (you can see the clear list is filled with the Japanese flag at the end of the video). The difficulty is rated 7.0 using the speedrun scale. It was uploaded only a week after SMM2's release and was one of the game's hardest levels at the time. I had this level in the back of my mind for a while. I'm glad this only took me 17 hours because that's shorter than my 2nd, 3rd and 4th hardest clears, which shows I've improved a lot in the past year. I accidentally muted the audio from 2:20 to 2:43. First section (0:13 - 0:22) The spin jump between the two saws is very precise; you can even slow down the video to see how close I was to dying. The twirl before the door needs to be well-timed, otherwise you will land on the snake block too late and therefore hit the spike, but it's not very hard. The rest is free. Second section (0:23 - 0:46) A pretty easy section, but the spiny section is a bit inconsistent because the spiny may travel a bit too fast, and you will not land on it. It was a struggle when learning this part. Third section (0:47 - 1:09) Fairly balanced, there were several points that caused me many deaths: the bomb spin, the first triple jump and the spin on the piranhas right after, equipping the shellmet 0:59 without falling off the ice blocks, not hitting the spikes next to the piranhas, fitting through the gap after the 7th red coin and quickly equipping the shellmet before taking damage. Overall, one of the harder sections, but it was also very fun. Fourth section (1:10 - 1:19) This is very easy, but I had 11 deaths there. Most of them happened because I used to not twirl above the munchers, and without twirling, this jump is actually pretty hard. After I changed my method, I think I only died to it once, if I remember correctly. I'm almost sure I died at least once to something other than the muncher. It was likely to the jump between the spikes after the banzai bill. Fifth section (1:20 - 1:51) The hardest one for me. It has a few hard jumps, such as the ON/OFF block wall jumps, and even more so the jump in between the saw and the bumper, but the hardest one by far is the P-Switch trick. For clarification, I think you can jump normally instead of spin jumping, which should make it much easier. However, I'm pretty sure that the creator did the spin (or at least Choco, the first clearer, did, and he probably copied the creator's strats), so I was worried it would be cheese. I therefore decided to suck it up and learn the trick by spinning, but this meant I had to throw the P-Switch as early as possible, spin jump as late as possible, and even then, there's a risk of hitting the first brick block before it turns into a coin, so I had to slow down a bit (I did it by turning left for a short time). A tough trick to do consistently, but in the end it was worth it. Sixth section (1:52 - 2:19) My favourite section. It was hard to learn; I remember it took me 52 minutes to do for the first time, which I believe is the longest out of any sections. However, I gained consistency very quickly, and by the end of the grind, I had a high consistency rate (maybe 20-30%). When learning, landing on the twister was very tough. You have to run off the blue skull at a specific time, otherwise you will hit the spikes. But just like I said, I got consistent at it eventually. My next goal in this game is to clear a level rated 7.5 in Team Shell, most likely Eternal Abyss by LeoX2. Even though a 7.5 in the TS scale is easier than a 7.0 in the speedrun scale (which is 9.0 in the TS scale), I'm better at NSMBU speedruns, so they may be of similar difficulty to me. Before I start grinding a 7.5, though, I will try to improve a bit by clearing some 6.5s and 7.0s.
