This is my third time in Saudi Arabia already… The first time, it was definitely exotic and wonderful, but there are some destinations where, every time I visit, I find myself thinking, "I want to go back as soon as possible." Saudi Arabia was one of those places… On top of that, it coincided with Ramadan, plus I had to say goodbye to my classmates. I was truly lonely emotionally. We all came to Singapore together in October 2022, and we have spent the last few years settling down and relying on each other. Now that my classmates are starting to leave one by one, and the day is approaching when even my closest friends will go, I feel like I am left all alone in the world, and a deep sense of loneliness washes over me. I felt less affected because I have an older sister living with me, and I also feel less affected because my job allows me to travel back and forth to Korea frequently. However, I thought about how much lonelier it must be for the many people living abroad who have truly settled down, are enduring loneliness, and are adapting to life among foreigners. I want to tell all of them that they are not alone! I want to convey the message that even this current page will eventually come to an end, so I hope you feel less lonely and a little happier.
