While most people are excited for it, there is a pretty notorious subset of "game criticism" in the online space that has been furious that the game's main character is a woman. Anti woke game criticism has become an unfortunately VERY vocal force in recent memory, with so called "gamers" getting mad at games like Ghost of Yotei, Onimusha 2, Spider-Man 2, Donkey Kong Bananza, and so, SO many more.
