The Power of Discipleship | Evangelism in Rural Kenya

This is one of our favorite stories from He Is the Remedy. Our young men recently traveled into a nearby village to share the Gospel. They arrived knowing the community had become skeptical of Christians after individuals pretending to represent a church had entered homes, prayed with families, and then stole from them. Trust had been broken. But God had already prepared the way. As our team entered the village, they found community leaders gathered together discussing one of the greatest challenges facing their youth—alcohol addiction, drug abuse, hopelessness, and the growing need for positive role models. Our young men shared something no one could argue with: their own testimony. Many of them once struggled with addiction themselves. Today, through the transforming power of Jesus Christ and years of intentional discipleship, they are living examples of redemption, restoration, and hope. Their testimonies deeply moved the village leaders, who immediately invited them to speak to the entire community. Since that first visit, the people have welcomed our team with open hearts, relationships continue to grow, and we are already witnessing lives transformed through the Gospel. At He Is the Remedy, we believe discipleship is more than teaching Bible studies—it's doing life together. We work together, pray together, farm together, serve together, and encourage one another every day. Our mission is to raise up godly leaders who will transform their own communities through the love of Jesus Christ. More than 70% of Kenya's population is under the age of 30, making this generation one of the greatest opportunities for Kingdom impact. We believe God is raising up young men and women who will become pastors, evangelists, community leaders, and faithful disciples for generations to come.
