Hwaseong’s new coastal path, constructed at a cost of 49 billion won, has been temporarily opened. The ‘Hwaseong Golden Coast Path’ stretches a total of 17 km from Jebu Marina to Gungpyeong Port. In this video, I personally walked the section from Gungpyeong Port to Baekmi Port, which I felt offered the most beautiful scenery. The landscape features a harmonious blend of a marine deck gracefully curving over the mudflats, a lush pine forest, coastal cliffs, and small rocky islands. When the tide is low, the path is a walk over the mudflats, but when the tide comes in, it completely transforms into a walk over the sea. Starting from Gungpyeongru at Gungpyeong Port, I walked past a cluster of black pine trees and the Sealand Disaster Memorial Park, following the long marine deck extending over the sea toward Baekmi Port. In particular, the section of the deck that curves sharply around the coastal cliffs and rocky islands was the highlight of this trip. Since it is still in the temporary opening phase and construction may be ongoing in some sections, please be sure to check the open sections and on-site control status before visiting.
