John Goldsmith 2015 Linguistics as viewed from information theory
This was a talk some time ago at the University of Chicago about how linguistic theory can be understood from the point of view of information theory. In fact, for me it was a way of rethinking what linguistics is. The viewer should understand either linguistics or information theory, or both, but not neither, I suspect.
