Singapore's Iconic Satay Street! | Iconic Foods In Singapore Ep.9 | Lau Pa Sat Satay Street
In Episode 9 of Iconic Foods in Singapore, I visited one of the most famous and unique food experiences in Singapore — Satay Street at Lau Pa Sat — and this is not your usual hawker centre visit. Imagine this… a busy street in the middle of Singapore’s CBD gets completely closed off, tables and chairs are set up right on the road, and it transforms into a full-on open-air satay dining experience. That’s exactly what happens at Satay Street. On weekends and public holidays, the street is closed from 3PM to 3AM, and on weekdays, it operates from 7PM to 3AM — making it one of the most unique late-night food spots in Singapore. In this episode, I decided to try something different. Instead of going for the usual stalls, I ordered from Stall 6, because they offer something not commonly found — Babat Satay (beef tripe satay). Here’s what we ordered: 10 sticks of Mutton Satay 10 sticks of Beef Satay 5 sticks of Babat Satay (And yes… I skipped chicken satay this time 😅) The Babat Satay was definitely the highlight — something you don’t see at every satay stall in Singapore. It has a unique texture and flavour that adventurous eaters will appreciate. The entire experience at Satay Street is something every tourist should try at least once. From the smoky grills, the sound of skewers sizzling, the crowd, and the atmosphere under the city lights, it feels completely different from your usual dining experience in Singapore. But let’s be real — this place is also known to be: Slightly pricey compared to other hawker centres A tourist hotspot Very crowded during peak hours So the big question is — is Satay Street at Lau Pa Sat worth it, or is it just a tourist trap? In this video, I share my honest review, the food, the experience, and whether you should actually visit.
