1986 Panasonic Newvicon tube VHS camcorder review
This Panasonic Omnimovie PV-220D from 1986 is one of the few VHS camcorders made in the mid '80s using a Newvicon tube image sensor, instead of a solid state CCD. By this time tube image sensors were falling out of favor due to their large size and higher power consumption, however in terms of low light sensitivity and overall image quality they actually outperformed a lot of the early CCDs. This camcorder is also in amazingly good condition for its age, and works perfectly!
