In this vlog, I take you to one of Cuba's most famous beaches, where I discovered a disturbing reality: a splendid beach… completely deserted. There were no tourists, no music, no laughter; just the sand, the sea, and that silence that speaks for itself. How did we get to this point? The Cuban tourism industry is experiencing a dramatic decline. In the first half of 2025, international visitor arrivals fell by 25% compared to the previous year, totaling just 981,856 tourists. And the numbers are even more severe for the first quarter: visitor arrivals fell by 29.3%, with only 24.1% hotel occupancy. During the first five months of the year, Cuba lost more than 300,000 visitors—a 20.6% drop—and international tourists represented only 73.4% of what they were in 2024. Competition with other Caribbean destinations, energy problems, shortages of essential products, and air connectivity restrictions are accelerating this decline.
