This video was filmed on October 26, 1985, and features footage of the Tarumi Railway, the Sumitomo Osaka Cement Gifu Plant's private railway line, and the Seino Railway. First, we filmed at Motosu Station. This station has a spur line to the Sumitomo Osaka Cement Gifu Plant, and freight transport has been carried out there since the days of Japanese National Railways (JNR). At the time of filming, the passenger transport vehicles were railbus type, with the single-car 180 series and the bogie-type Haimo 230 series running. Since they owned a locomotive for freight transport, the JNR-sold Ohafu 33 series was used during rush hour. Later, in 2006, freight transport was discontinued, and there were concerns about its continued existence. However, thanks to management efforts such as focusing on tourist transport, it continues to operate as a third-sector railway. From 11:53, the video shows the Sumitomo Osaka Cement Gifu Plant's private railway line. During my visit, two Hitachi diesel locomotives were operating, primarily for shunting cement freight trains. This line was completely discontinued on March 28, 2006. From 16:24, the footage is of the Seino Railway. My memory of the filming is vague, and my knowledge of this railway is limited, so I cannot provide a detailed explanation. However, a web search revealed that the footage was filmed near Saruiwa Station. Please forgive me for leaving everything else unknown. This footage was shot in 1985 using a Victor GZ-S3 video camera and a Victor HR-S10 portable video deck.
