The Most Recited Psalm in the Bible Has Been Mistranslated for 400 Years

You have recited Psalm 23 your whole life. But the Hebrew hides two things almost no one has ever shown you. "Goodness and mercy shall follow me" is not a gentle promise. The Hebrew word is radaph, to pursue, to hunt down. The same word used for Pharaoh's chariots chasing Israel, and the same word David once used for Saul hunting him across the wilderness. By the end of his life, David realized something else had been hunting him all along. Not his enemy. Mercy itself. And the final line, "I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever," is not what the Hebrew actually says. The word is v'shavti, from shuv, to return. For four hundred years, this Psalm has been recited as a promise to dwell, when David wrote a promise to return.
