After three days of quarantine, the residents of Slobozia took advantage of the day off and went shopping. Most of them went to a supermarket on the outskirts of the city, where they heard that there were discounts on meat and vegetables. By car or on foot, the locals headed to the shopping complex to replenish their food stocks. However, for this they needed a self-declaration. The police and gendarmes checked every entrance and exit from the city. All access routes to the city were blocked either by filters of the law enforcement forces or by iron fences. Economic activities are allowed in the city, with the exception of terraces and restaurants, which have been closed for the next two weeks. Their owners say they are making huge efforts to keep some of their employees, but the measure brings them to the brink of bankruptcy. Locals believe that the measure of closing the terraces is not appropriate and that without a place to socialize, people will become even sadder due to the pandemic. The infection rate in Slobozia has exceeded 8 cases per thousand inhabitants. The city will remain closed until November 27.
