TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked a Singapore-flagged container ship in the Strait of Hormuz. The attack reportedly took place on Thursday (June 25, 2026). US officials shared details of the attack. Anonymous sources said the ship was hit by a drone. This attack also signals the renewed volatility in the vital waterway. The UKMTO reported that the ship's bridge was damaged after being hit on the starboard side by an unknown projectile off the coast of Dahit, Oman. So far, there have been no reports of casualties or environmental impacts from the attack. As a result of the attack, the UKMTO halted its initial plans to evacuate the stranded ships in the Persian Gulf. IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez emphasized that the halt was necessary to ensure the safety of all crew and the smooth operation of the ship. The IMO stated that the ship had passed through the Strait of Hormuz before being attacked. Previously, Iran had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to raise hopes of resuming navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
