Hartington to Wirksworth Hike via Harboro Rocks - Peak District, Derbyshire

Hartington to Wirksworth via Harboro Rocks and Cave, Peak District National Park, Derbyshire UK - Hiking Vlog 12 miles – 18.4 km We are in the Peak District, Derbyshire on this Hike starting in the village of Hartington and finishing in Wirksworth, walking via village of Biggin then onto the Pennine Bridleway and High Peak Trail plus visiting Harboro Rocks & Cave along the way. Walk Highlights: Hartington – Biggin – Tissington Trail – Cardlemere Lane – Pennine Bridleway – High Peak Trail – Longcliffe – Harboro Rocks & Cave – Middleton Top – Dale Quarry – Market Town of Wirksworth Route Description: Starting in the centre of Hartington we head towards the Youth Hostel and then take the lane on the right, Highfield Lane continue on the Lane to Biggin, walk through the village passing Biggin Hall and then up to the bridge with the Tissington Trail continue to the A515 and onto Mininglow Lane, follow the path to the Pennine bridleway and High Peak Trail an old 1800’s rail route turn Right onto the trail and follow for 3 miles passing Longcliffe and to Harboro Rocks, visit the Cave old Lead mine and the summit of the rocks with its trig point and carved stones of Pulpit Rock and the Lords Seat, then back on the trail passing Carsington Pastures Wind farm then turn right as approach Middleton Top crossing the B5035, onto the footpath that passes through Middle Peak and Dale Quarry and into the market town of Wirksworth.
