MINISTRY OF WORKS SIGNS €2.7 BILLION DEAL WITH TURKISH FIRM FOR SGR CONSTRUCTION
The Ministry of Works and Transport has signed a contract with the Turkish firm YAPI Merkezi for the construction of the Malaba-Kampala Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project. Works Minister General Katumba Wamala told UBC that negotiations are complete and the SGR initiative will cost €2.7 billion. The signing took place at SGR offices in Nakawa.
