2009 Porsche 911 Targa 4S | Drive & Review!
This lovely example is currently being offered for sale via @luxsportmotorgroup, and is finished in a charming specification of Black over a Sand Beige leather interior, with just around 26,109 total miles on the odometer. In total, Porsche built and sold over 200,000 examples of the 997-generation Porsche 911, across all different variations. Considered internally as a 997-model, this car represents one variation of all of the Porsche 911 sports cars manufactured and sold by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche from 2004 (as Model Year 2005) until 2013 across two different generations. The first generation being known as the 997.1 (2004-2008) and the second, updated 997.2 (2009-2013). The Porsche 911 as a whole is timeless, and throughout the generations and variations of the model, they have become increasingly more impressive as you may assume. In specific, the 997-generation of the 911 happened to be one of the greatest variants they ever produced. The 997 models were faster, lighter and more fuel efficient than the predecessor 996 models, and they were also produced in quite limited numbers, depending on the model, the model year, the color and the options of the specific car. When it comes to this unique car shown here, the Targa 4 and Targa 4S were first introduced to the world in 2006. One distinctive feature of the Targa models is the glass roof system, which is carried over from previous generations. The first time Porsche ever used the Targa name was on the 911 Targa that was first shown at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany in September of 1965. Described as neither a coupè nor a cabriolet, the Targa gets it’s name from the Targa Florio road race that Porsche had great motorsport success ever since the mid 1950’s. With the introduction of the 997 Targa models in September of 2006, this marked the first time that multiple variants of the Targa became available, the Targa 4, and Targa 4S, differentiated by mostly performance capabilities. The Targa 4 is powered by a 3.6L flat six engine that is rated at 345 HP in the four wheel drive version, and the Targa 4S is equipped with a 3.8L engine that delivers a total of 385 HP. It’s reported that approximately 1,156 total examples of the 997 Targa 4S were developed for the 2009 model year! • AMMEDIANY.com
