Genius of Kālidāsa in the light of Meghadūta by Prof. K. Ramasubramanian

Bestowed with the blessings of the Divine Mother Kāli, Kālidāsa, widely regarded as the greatest poet and dramatist in the Sanskrit language, has gifted humanity with three dramas – Malvikāgnimitra, Vikramorvaśīya and Śākuntala; two epics – Kumārasaṃbhava and Raghuvaṃśa; and one Khaṇḍakāvya – the Meghadūta. Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University has recently announced Prof. K. Ramasubramanian as one of the recipients of the "Mahakavi Kalidas Sanskrit-Vrati National Award 2021". As an ode to the Mahākavi, Prof. K. Ramasubramanian would be expounding the beauty of verses from Meghadūta. This talk would provide a glimpse into the exquisite mastery wielded by Kālidāsa over language, substance, prosody, and philosophy.
