SAN JACINTO Manabi, So charming I forgot about San Clemente | Ecuador

San Clemente may be popular with expats but neighbouring San Jacinto in Manabi has an infectious local energy. The great thing is you don't have to choose, San Jacinto, San Alejo and San Clemente are small villages along the same stretch of beautiful beach in Ecuador. Kimberly, the owner of The Cottages by the Sea (  / thecottagesbythesea  ) invited us to come stay with her if we were ever traveling through the region and I'm so glad we did! The cottages are an oasis! And perfectly situated in San Alejo so you can walk a few blocks to the right and arrive in San Clemente or a few blocks to the left in San Jacinto. I intended to spend time in all three but I really enjoyed San Jacinto the most so I always wanted to walk left. While San Jacinto isn't as pretty, it has fantastic local food and you can watch the fishermen come in. If you want to take a mangrove tour at La Boca they are run by official guides.
